SORA Technology Showcases Satellite, Drone and AI Innovations for Malaria Vector Control to High-Level Stakeholders in Mozambique

SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Japan; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko; hereafter “SORA Technology”), which provides advanced drone and AI solutions across public health, agriculture, and climate resilience, announced that it hosted a field visit in Mozambique showcasing the frontline of malaria control, using AI, drones, and satellite data to identify mosquito breeding sites and guide exactly where, how much, and how to intervene.

This high-level field demonstration, organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) Mozambique, UNITAID, and the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) Mozambique, convened key global top leaders from across the global malaria ecosystem, including The Global Fund, Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC), African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), RBM Partnership to End Malaria, Gates Foundation, and Goodbye Malaria, as well as H.E. Keiji Hamada, Ambassador of Japan to Mozambique.

At the same time, representatives from the leading companies involved in malaria control, such as  Freight in Time, Vestergaard, Envu, Syngenta, Vodacom Mozambique, Nando’s, Fumilar, and CISCO also participated. 

During the session, SORA Technology showcased its end-to-end larval source management workflow, from smart zoning for targeted communities, to live drone mapping and drone spraying , AI-powered analysis for waterbody detection and risk classification and optimal routing to breeding sites.

Participants were guided in real time to high-risk Anopheles breeding sites using SORA Technology’s navigation platform, and Drone-based spraying was also conducted in hard-to-reach areas, demonstrating how aerial operations effectively complement ground interventions.

This integrated approach highlighted how SORA Technology is enabling more precise, efficient, and scalable malaria interventions reducing costs, saving time, and improving outcomes in the fight against malaria.
